Welcome to our website!
Greenock Baptist Church is a fairly new church - only formed in August 2008!
We came into being as the result of the two existing Baptist Churches in Greenock - George Square Baptist and Orangefield Baptist - combining to become a unified Christian witness in our town. These are interesting times and we are excited about what God plans to do through our combined resources.
The first question most people ask is 'where are you now located?'. We have now sold both of the parent churches' buildings and are now actively looking for new premises. In the meantime we are using various rented accommodation for our worship services and meetings. This includes meeting at the Waterfront Cinema in Greenock for our Sunday morning services (map - here), and our other services and mid-week meetings are being hosted in local partner churches (see individual meeting information for details).
For more information about who we are and what we believe please take time to look around out website. And if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
In the meantime, we'd love to see you at one of our services - details at the top left of every page! |

This Sunday (26th Feb) at 11am we are excited to be having a Baptism Service. If you've never seen a full immersion baptism, or have ever wondered why we are called 'Baptist', then this is a great time to come along and find out!
As we don't currently have our own church building (or baptistry) we are joining with our friends at Gourock Baptist Church to hold this service - the church is located at the bottom of King Street, Gourock, just opposite the Gamble Halls (map - here).
This service is open to anyone, so we'd love to see you there.

Starting on Sunday 4th March we will be having our Sunday morning service in our new venue - the Waterfront Cinema (map - here).
If you've not been to church recently (or ever), then why not come and find out what it is all about. The seats are comfy and the welcome will be warm, but unfortunately popcorn and icecream is not being served!
The service will start at 10:45 to allow us time to have tea / coffee afterwards, but still be clear of the cinema in time for the first film showing.
If you don't already go to a church on Sunday, then why not come along - we'd love to see you there.
